Importance of design flexibility for complex requirements

Valve customization is adapting to customers’ needs in regards to changing body materials, port connections, testing requirements, and various combinations of different assembly types. Being open to different design ideas, and accepting the challenge the customer set forth. As a valve manufacturer we strive to impress our customers with our many years of experience in building valves. Every day we continue to receive new design request from our customers for complex requirements. Since we have over 140 years in customizing valves experience, our customer can trust that we are experts in the industry.

Design flexibility – tailored to customer’s specifications

Being a flexible manufacturer is key for end-users. AS-Schneider has built a business model that is tailored to customer’s specifications.  Since our customers have so many different applications that require changing valves to fit their needs, Valve customization is more becoming a standard requirement than a design request. We are focused on minimizing installation time and offering solutions to fit customer’s requirements. Creating new designs can be challenging in the beginning of the process.

There are many details to consider like; the (MAOP) maximum allowable operating pressure and the (MAWP) maximum allowable working pressure. MAWP being the maximum pressure based on the design codes that the weakest component of a pressure vessel can handle. … Maximum expected operating pressure (MEOP) is the high end of what is expected. We must also consider the B31 code for pressure piping that was developed by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers which covers Power Piping, Fuel Gas Piping, Process Piping, Pipeline Transportation Systems for Liquid Hydrocarbons and Other Liquids, Refrigeration Piping and Heat Transfer Components and Building Services Piping. Understanding these codes aid in our design flexibility.
